Post-network neo-topologies (2013-2023)

Post-Network Neo-Topologies are hand-made drawings that trace the complex pathways of information flows amid network capitalism and the omnipresence of big data.

More than mere illustrations, these fantasized “score-landscapes” challenge the phenomenology of perception and question structures often taken for granted, serving both as artistic interpretation and organic depiction of the contemporary information landscape. They cover various scales, from agile processes to global information exchanges, navigating the intersection of aesthetics with economic and political realms.

My approach is immersive and in situ. For several years I have been working on the post-Fordist production processes of cultural capitalism. These processes, inherited from both Toyotism and hacker practices, are documented and illustrated in the literature (agile methods, scrum, kanban, sprints, are examples of terminology). I embed in startups, observing interactions between clients, marketers, designers, developers… Every aspect of project management, from challenges to missteps, is captured. Similarly, I study artistic workshops and their production flows. Over time, I map these observations, drawing from influences such as economic models, entrepreneurial strategies, neuroscience, scale-free network theories, or elements of theoretical physics. These charts may also be called “data drawings without data”.
